2 out of 5 stars ok   December 16, 2009

The product was listed at over $123 dollars, retail and on sale for $49. Upon receipt i would say its worth about $49 dollars, so its ok, but i thought i was getting a much better watch. The casing has a tinge of yellow in it , and i don't know if thats rust or what, but should not be their and the casing seems rather cheap. If i had to do it over again i would buy a more expensive watch and hope the quality is better. As it stands i would say its worth the sale price.

4 out of 5 stars Classy, Great-Looking Watch   December 9, 2009

I just received this watch, so I cannot comment on durability. I will say it is a very nice looking watch; very stylish. I like that it is a quartz function; accuracy without daily winding. We'll see how it holds up.
As one reviewer noted, the subdials are very small, so either young eyes or older with progressive lenses (in my case), would work best. The luminescent hands and second hand make visibility in the dark possible. It is a relatively small pocket watch, so it will not take up much room. I will be purchasing a case for mine even though it has a cover, for those times I wear pants that don't have the fifth pocket.

One other note about something else another reviewer said. You need to press the crown in when you close the cover; this may take a little getting used to. However, if you snap the cover closed, you will eventually ruin the latch closure on the cover. The instructions actually tell you that. Hope that helps anyone who might be looking at this as an issue.

Finally, the price it is offered for is quite inviting. Who doesn't love paying $50 for something that retails for $125?!? I've always liked pocket watches, but didn't have upwards of $150 for a fancier one, and I didn't want to go too cheap, so this fits the bill. A worthy first piece in my collection. I'll update about durability and timekeeping.

4 out of 5 stars Elegant but basic watch   November 13, 2009

I got this watch as a replacement for a misplaced watch given to me by my sons. It is a very nice looking watch and the color scheme, with semi-luminescent dots, is quite striking and elegant. As mentioned by another reviewer, the clasp needs to be carefully pressed before closing as it does not close easily. I have found the knob (which has three positions -- two for setting, one for running) a bit difficult to place in the right position. My primary complaint, which lowers it from five stars to four stars, is that the three small sub-dials are basically unreadable unless one has VERY good closeup vision. I just ignore them and enjoy the rest of the watch.
